Pamela Love's in the Astrology Zone

We asked Pamela Love what her legions of fans have to look forward to next month when she shows her SS11 collection.

She sent over the image at left and said she'd been inspired by "the astrological lunar cycles, the mixing of the alchemical elements and the ethnic traditions of India and Africa."

Furthermore, she echoed many a clothing designer when she noted "I wanted to explore the notion of wearing jewelry as protection.”

We expect she means something more spiritual than the protective claws she's so well known for.

1 September 2010: The Indefinable Stresses of Being astrology zone

The Gemini Moon squares the Virgo Sun 9:00 AM or so PDT, marking something that, at least for those in the Pacific time zone, may feel like beginning the day with an ending; upper squares always have a mix of anticipation and finale and this one, though only lasting a few hours, is no exception. 12:30 PM the Moon quincunxes the North Node, and we find ourselves making emotional adjustments–again–this time to our feelings about where we’re headed; be ready for a lot of talk and windy speculation/ posturing (Gemini Moon) that may have to accomodate a good hard dash of reality (Cappy NN).

Early afternoon sees the Moon trine Vesta and Zeus, followed around 3 PDT by the Moon’s square to retro Mercury; these aspects may show as a sense of emotional well-being, confidence, and ambition that is suddenly brought up short by something communicated or realized. The weird thing about this is that we may feel all alone during this–not isolated in any way but internally, where it almost feels like we sit back and watch our confidence come and just as easily go. For a few what’s communicated may actually be a confirmation (perhaps beyond our imaginings) of positive advancement–and yet we really won’t be able to trust that, either. Knowing Merc retro, the rug may be pulled from under us at any time.

By 9 PM PDT the Moon sextiles Juno, and we feel the mojo that vanished in the afternoon return; 12:30 AM PDT on the 2nd and the Moon quincunxes Pallas, rounding out this mini-period of discovery with a helpful (and unavoidable) wisdom-check. All in all, it’s a day where the stresses are definitely there but when it’s all over we may have a hard time pointing to exactly what was wrong.

We’re coming up on a very active period, to include the September Full Moon–make the most of the trends with the guidance found here at the site and at http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-summer-2010-eclipse/ Thanks, and have a great one!
